Physical Description: Hazen is an elderly man who is reaching his 70's. However, those who still meet him to this day are impressed with his presence.
General Information: Since the Flight of Fiends, Canon Hazen has made few public appearances. When he has appeared, it has been at moments of great political importance.
Adventures and Noteworthy Deeds: In Coldeven of 586 CY, His Venerable Reverence used the Crook of Rao to stunning affect, banishing thousands of demons, devils, yugoloths, and other outsiders from all parts of the Flanaess, and possibly from throughout the lands of all Oerth.
Redin Sarneth is the son of Eldried Sarneth, former secular leader of Grayington diocese, and former Plar of Veluna. Redin himself briefly inherited the title of Plar when he succeeded his father as ruler of Grayington diocese in the spring of 594 CY.
After the death of Canon Hazen, the Church began the process of selecting a new Canon for the Vale, and Redin lobbied hard for the position, claiming that visions he received from Rao indicated he was chosen by Rao to save the true faithful from the depradations of Herion. When Priffin Truft, not Redin, ascended to the position of Canon, Redin himself formally seceded Grayington from the rest of Veluna. He declared a new theocracy of Rao in Grayington and declared himself the "True Canon of the Faithful".
In the fall of 595 CY, after gaining ground in the war against Herion, the Church sent a strike force of adventurers to capture Redin and his advisor, Bishop Velt Harkin, to answer for the crime of treason. Though blood was shed, the strike force was successful. However, there was no public trial, and Redin was rumored to have been sent to the Brotherhood of the Vale, a monastery of Raoan monks set high in the Yatil Mountains northwest of Mitrik, to contemplate his mistakes...
